UWSP Wired Network
Use a wired connection whenever possible when connecting your devices to your residence hall network. A wired connection minimizes interference from other devices and can provide better bandwidth.
To connect to the wired network in your Residence Hall room plug one end of an ethernet cable into the wall jack and the other end into your network device. Ethernet cables can be purchased at most large retail stores or on-line.
- All Residence Hall rooms except Suites@201: Use the jack near the window to ensure the jack is active.
- Suites@201 Residence Hall rooms: All room network jacks are active and available to use.

⇒ Mobile Devices and Laptops - Connect to the UWSPWIRELESS or eduroam wi-fi
Use UWSPWIRELESS or Eduroam for laptops, mobile phones, and for any device which asks you to connect to the network with your UWSP Username and Password.
Connect these devices to UWSPWIRELESS or Eduroam:
- Android Phone, Android Tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab or other)
- iPhone, iPad
- Windows PC (Desktop, Laptop, Tablet or 2 in 1)
- Macbook Laptop (Air, Pro or just a Macbook)
- Mac Desktop (iMac, Pro)
- Linux Computer (Desktop, Laptop, Tablet or 2 in 1)
- Chromebook
⇒ Gaming and Streaming Devices - Connect to the UWSPDEVICE wi-fi
Use UWSPDEVICE for things like Xbox, PlayStation, Roku, or smart TVs. Smart Phones, Laptops, Desktops with Wi-Fi, and Tablets should use UWSPWIRELESS or eduroam.
Only use wi-fi for your gaming or streaming devices if you are unable to use a wired connection. Wired connections minimize interference from devices in neighboring rooms and provide better bandwidth for gaming and streaming media.
If the device only asks for a Wi Fi password and not your UWSP username and password, UWSPDEVICE is the right choice.
Follow these instructions to receive the password for the UWSPDEVICE wi-fi.
