Remote Access to Your UWSP Mac From Your Mac at Home

Use Apple Screen Sharing to remotely sign in to your assigned UWSP Mac computer from your personal Mac.

Do these one-time steps for your assigned UWSP computer before attempting a remote connection.  You should repeat these steps if you are assigned a different computer.

IMPORTANT: Before using Apple Screen Sharing you must first set up a VPN connection to the UWSP network.

Use Apple Screen Sharing

On your personal Mac:

  1. Sign into the UWSP network through VPN.
  2. Open Finder.
  3. Select Go > Connect to server.
  4. In the Connect to Server box enter your Server Address in this format: 

    vnc://your_UWSP_computer_name.uwsp.edu (example: vnc://spointer-md.uwsp.edu)
     
  5. Select Connect.
  6. Enter the following:
    1. Name: Your UWSP alias (e.g. spointer).
    2. Password: Your UWSP password.
  7. Click Connect to remotely connect to your UWSP Mac computer.
