MFA Hardware tokens are intended as a backup secondary authentication method. Hardware tokens fit on a keychain where they are easy to access if your mobile device is unavailable.
Use a Hardware Token Verification Code For MFA
Note: to use your hardware token for MFA authentication when signing in from off-campus into Remote Desktop, the Remote/Online Access Labs, or VPN you must additionally use the intermediary Big-IP client.
To complete your multi-factor authentication with your hardware token's verification code:
- Sign in to your UWSP resource with your UWSP username and password.
- On the secondary authentication screen select Use a different verification option.
- Select Use verification code from mobile app or hardware token.
- Type the code from your hardware token display into the Verification code box.
- Click Sign in.
