MFA Hardware tokens are intended as a backup secondary authentication method. Hardware tokens fit on a keychain where they are easy to access if your mobile device is unavailable.

Use a Hardware Token Verification Code For MFA

Note: to use your hardware token for MFA authentication when signing into Remote Desktop, the Remote/Online Access Labs, or VPN you must additionally use the intermediary Big-IP client.

To complete your multi-factor authentication with your hardware token's verification code:

  1. In the Approve sign in request box, click I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now.
  2. Under Verify your identity select Use a verification code.
  3. Enter the code from your hardware token and click Verify.
