How Do I Change My Default Multi-Factor Authentication Method?

Knowing how to change your default authentication method is important!

Information Technology strongly recommends that you set your default authentication method to use the Microsoft Authenticator (MFA) app so that you receive push notifications to your mobile device.

Using the MFA app offers a higher level of secure identity assurance than SMS or voice calls.

 

How to Change Your Default Authentication Method

  1. Sign in to your UWSP Microsoft account.
     
  2. In the Security Info box, click UPDATE INFO.


     
  3. Your current default authentication method will display at the top. Click Change.


     
  4. Choose the multi-factor authentication method you want as your default.


     
  5. Click Confirm.
