I Got a New Phone - How Do I Set Up MFA?

Important: always make sure to have a backup authentication method set in your myaccount.uwsp.edu portal.

To continue authenticating with MFA when you get a new phone, you must install the MFA app on your new phone and update your UWSP account authentication methods:

  1. Install the MFA app on your new phone.
  2. Sign in to your myaccount.uwsp.edu portal.
  3. In the Manage access and security section select Change how you sign inYou may be prompted for your current method of authentication.
  4. Under Security Info click Add sign-in method.
  5. Add the newly installed MFA app as your new default authentication method.
  6. Remove the previous authentication methods connected to your old phone.

Students and affiliates using phone call authentication:

  • If you have not received a new phone number no further action is needed.
  • If you have received a new phone number you must re-add the phone authentication method.
