Email Major/Minor Distribution Lists

Email distribution lists for Declared Majors and Minors are available through UWSP's Outlook Address Book. List membership is automatically maintained and includes who can email these lists.  If you need to email a specific list(s) you can request permission.

Our Declared Majors and Minors list formats KB contains the list prefixes and search format. You will use this information to search for the desired list(s) in your Outlook Address Book.

How to Email a Major or Minor Distribution List

First, go to our Email Formats for Major/Minor Distribution Lists and locate the type of list(s) you need (e.g. "All Students Within a Major", "All Students Within a Minor", etc). Use the list examples to help narrow your Outlook search and address your email (following).

In the Outlook Desktop app

  1. Open Outlook and create a new email.
     
  2. Click the To button to open the Select Names dialog box.
     
  3. In the Select Names Search box, type the desired Major or Minor list prefix followed by a dash ("-") followed by the Major or Minor abbreviation. See Email Formats for Major/Minor Distribution Lists for help.
     
  4.  Select the desired list(s) then click To, then OK.  To select multiple use ctrl+click to select non-contiguous lists or shift+click to select a range.


In Outlook for the Web

  1. Open the Outlook web app and sign in with your UWSP account.
     
  2. Create a new email and click To.
     
  3. Scroll down to the Majors or Minors section in the contact list.

     
  4. Select the desired category > click the to add the list as a recipient in the email.

 

Availability & Accuracy

All distribution lists are automatically maintained in Microsoft Outlook. The lists are updated every half hour from data supplied by the Office of the Registrar.
