Request a University Project

UWSP accepts requests for projects through this common request process. This is a yearly process, and each request will be evaluated on availability of resources, funding, and need with the Vice Chancellors and Chancellor ultimately approving, delaying, or declining a request.

For 2026, requests will be accepted starting Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025 and are due Friday, Feb. 27, 2026.

Requests are accepted mid-cycle, however, most will be held for the next review cycle. If you have a urgent request mid-cycle, please contact the IT Project Management Office.

What should be requested through this service?

A request should be submitted using this service for any work requiring substantial IT or Facilities efforts. Even if an effort will be fully funded without institutional money, it should be requested through this process as it is likely to need some effort from IT or Facilities.

UWSP Definition of a IT Project

For more information on what constitutes a IT project, please see the Definition of a IT Project (Projects vs Tickets or Operations).

UWSP Definition of a Facilities Project

A Facilities Project refers to any planned alteration, modification, or improvement to campus facilities aimed at supporting operational needs, enhancing functionality, or accommodating growth. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Space Renovations or Remodels: Upgrading, refurbishing, or redesigning existing spaces to improve usability, aesthetics, or compliance with building code/safety standards.
  • Space Relocations: Moving departments, offices, or functional areas to different locations within campus facilities.
  • Additional Space Requests: Creating or acquiring new spaces to meet emerging program needs or expanding existing facilities.
  • Space Allocation Changes: Adjusting how existing spaces are assigned or utilized to optimize efficiency and align with institutional priorities.

Facilities projects may involve architectural, structural, MEP or technological changes and often require coordination with multiple stakeholders to ensure compliance with building & safety codes, accessibility standards, and budgetary constraints.

If you have questions on if a request should be submitted, please contact the IT Project Management Office.
