Description of Service
Request a project to implement a new IT service or make significant changes to an existing IT service.
Project requests are generally needed for initiatives requiring more than 40 hours of work but depend on several factors. Please see the Projects vs Requests webpage for more information on the differences between a service request and a project. If you have further questions regarding whether a project is needed, please contact the IT Project Management Office.
Procedure:
A Campus IT Project is requested in two stages: 1) and initial request form which creates the request, and 2) a Business Case where you can add additional project details such as estimated expenses, time estimates, supporting documentation, and project stakeholders.
- Click the Request Project button in the menu to the right.
- Complete and submit the online form and click Save. A draft project request will be created for you.
- Click the Review and Submit button.
- In the business case, additional project details such as estimated expenses, time estimates, supporting documentation, and project stakeholders This step is optional, the IT Project Management Office will work with you to finalize the business case after receiving the request.
- Click the Mark Complete and Submit button.
Once submitted, the IT Project Management Office will work with you to scope out the proposal, determine resource requirements, and finalize the request.
Finalized requests will then be submitted to the IT Project Review Committee for review.
Project requests must be approved by the IT Project Review Committee prior to procurement or project execution.
