Please note that if you are requesting a NEW network jack to be installed (i.e. there is no existing jack in the wall), you will need to provide a funding account to cover installation fees.
Description of Service
This service allows UWSP faculty, staff, and students to request a change for an existing network jack or to install a new one.
Types of changes available:
- Jack Deactivation:
- Request to deactivate an unused network jack.
- Existing Jack Activation:
- Request to activate an unused, pre-existing network jack.
- Existing Jack Reconfiguration:
- Request to reconfigure a network jack that is currently in use.
- New Network Drop (New Jack):
- Request a new network jack that currently does not physically exist.
Request Guidelines
When filling out the online submission form, please provide all required information and all known optional information. The more information you provide, the quicker your request can be processed.
When submitting a request, please ensure that all information provided is accurate. UWSP IT staff may reach out to request further information or ask for clarification. During that time, your request will be placed on hold until you respond.

Procedure:
- Select the "Request a Jack Change" button.
- Fill out and submit the online form.
- The UWSP IT team will review the request.
- If further approval is required, the relevant people will be contacted.
- Further information may be requested if necessary. Please check your email inbox regularly for messages related to your request.
- Your network jack change request will be implemented.
