How to Test Your MFA Authentication Methods
Before testing: If your default authentication method is Microsoft's Authenticator app make sure that notifications and alerts are enabled for the app on your device.
- Go to testmfa.uwsp.edu.
- Click Sign In and sign in with your UWSP account.
- Your default authentication method will immediately prompt you to authenticate.
- If your default authentication method is the MFA app on your mobile device:
- On your mobile device screen, you will receive a notification that the MFA app has received an authentication request.
- Tap to open this notification or open the MFA app on your mobile device. You may additionally be prompted to enter your device passcode.
- Tap Approve to approve your sign-in.
- To test a backup authentication method such as your hardware token or phone number (students):
- Click Use a different verification option.
- select the back up method you would like to test.
- Sign out after testing.
- To test another verification method, click Sign In again.
- When you are done testing, Sign out and close the browser screen.
