Add a Secondary Authentication Method (Students)

Information Technology recommends the Microsoft Authenticator app for secondary authentication when signing into secure UWSP resources. Adding one or more additional secondary authentication methods for backup is also recommended.

following is a list of secondary authentication options available to UWSP students:

• Microsoft Authenticator Mobile App (recommended)
• SMS
• Phone call
• Hardware token (A $12 fee is applied to the student's account for this secondary method)
   

Enable SMS or Phone Call Authentication

1. Sign in to your UWSP Microsoft account.
    
2. Click UPDATE INFO in the Security info box.
   
    
3. Click Add a sign-in method > Alternate phone > Add.
   
    
4. Enter your phone number > select Text me a code or Call me > Next.
   
    

You will receive an automated call or SMS asking you to confirm the registration of your phone.
