Following are Information Technology's maintenance schedules for the UWSP network and other services. Scheduled software and security upgrades and patches are posted to UWSP's Employee and Student Campus Announcements.
In rare cases, a patch may require immediate action by IT and must be applied outside of a published maintenance schedule. These unscheduled patches are also posted to Campus Announcements whenever possible.
IT Maintenance Schedules
General Network and Server Maintenance
Wednesday mornings 4:00 - 7:00 A.M.
This is the maintenance window for the UWSP network. You may be unable to log in or access network resources as maintenance is performed.
Information Technology recommends that you restart your machine Wednesday mornings to establish a clean connection to campus network resources.
Print Service Maintenance
Wednesday mornings 12:01 A.M. - 7:00 A.M.
Print servers may be down for brief periods during the print service maintenance window.
Canvas
Thursday mornings 5:00 - 7:00 A.M. Maintenance window for Canvas. During this time you may be unable to log in.
Microsoft Security and Software Patches
Microsoft releases patches to customers the second Tuesday of every month. After evaluating and re-packaging them for our computer environment, Information Technology releases them for automatic install the second Monday following Microsoft’s initial release.
If your computer is not connected to the UWSP network during the published update timeframe, any available updates will download almost immediately the next time your computer connects to the UWSP network.
Supported Applications
Daily update window 11:30 P.M. through 7:30 A.M.
Software and security updates for supported applications available with the Standard Campus Load, and applications installed through the Software Center, may occur during this update window.
If your computer is not connected to the UWSP network during the published update timeframe, any available updates will download almost immediately the next time your computer connects to the UWSP network.
