UWSP supports a Windows PC computing environment with a Standard Load for employee and department use. The Standard Load is comprised of a particular release of an operating system and a standardized set of software products configured specifically for UWSP’s computing environment to assure network delivered applications perform consistently, to disseminate security and software updates, and to help facilitate upgrades.
UWSP’s current Windows PC standard load includes the Windows 11 operating system and Office 365.

Computer Purchases for New Employees
New employees considering a non-Windows operating system should first discuss their need with their Campus Support Team member before submitting their computer purchase request.
Computer Replacements for Existing employees
Existing employees wanting to move to a non-Windows operating system should enter an IT workorder describing how this move will benefit their specific curricular or business need. The submitted request must be vetted by IT before a computer purchase request can be made.
