How to Use Impero Console in IT Computer Labs

Impero Console is a software tool available in select IT computer labs on campus. The software is installed on the teaching station computer and can be used to monitor computers in the lab via Live Thumbnails, broadcast content, record screens, and more!

Impero Console is currently available in the following IT computer labs:

  • CAC 301
  • CBB 376
  • CCC 302
  • CCC 307
  • CPS 107
  • NFAC 126
  • SCI A224
  • SCI B308
  • TNR 253
  • TNR 356

How to Use Impero Console

  1. Log in to the teaching station computer and open Impero Console from the desktop.

  2. Enter the password when prompted. Contact your Campus Support Technician if you do not know the password.

  3. The Impero home screen will open and you will see a list of all computers in the lab.

To change the layout of the home screen:

  1. Click Layout. Choose the view option you want to use.

  2. A popular option is Live Thumbnails.

Broadcast and Record Screen(s)

Impero provides the ability for students to broadcast content to the teaching station (so it can be easily displayed via projector) or you can broadcast content from the teaching station to the student computers in the room.

To broadcast content:

  1. Choose the computer(s) to broadcast content to. The green check mark indicates that a computer is selected.

  2. Click Screen in the upper left > Broadcast Screen.

  3. Configure the desired options in the Broadcast Options pop-up box > Begin

To record screens:

  1. Choose the computer(s) you want to record.
     
  2. Click Screen in the upper left > Record Screen.

  3. Configure desired recording options in the Record Screen Options pop-up box > Begin.

To watch recordings:

  1. Click Screen in the upper left > Watch Recording.

  2. A pop-up box with available recordings will appear. Select the recording you want to watch > click Watch Recording.
