Add Phone Calls as a Secondary Authentication Method (Students and Affiliates)

Information Technology recommends the Microsoft Authenticator app for secondary authentication when signing into secure UWSP resources. Adding your phone as a backup secondary authentication method is also recommended for students and affiliates.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to increasing security concerns, Microsoft is discontinuing SMS and phone call authentication as multifactor authentication options.  As of March 2027, these options will no longer work or be available to select.  When setting up your new UWSP account, you are encouraged to use the Microsoft Authenticator app as your default multifactor authentication option.  If you already have SMS or phone call authentication enabled, you are strongly encouraged to switch to the Microsoft Authenticator app at your earliest convenience.
