Use PowerPoint Presenter View

PowerPoint’s Presenter View shows your presentation, notes and presentation controls on the presenter monitor, while displaying the notes-free presentation to your audience.

  • Your presenter display shows presentation, presentation notes and presentation controls.

  • The audience display shows only the notes-free presentation.

Presentation screen only is displaying in audience view.

 

Using Presenter View

 

Enable Presenter View

In PowerPoint's edit view, on the ribbon select the Slide Show tab. In the Monitors group, place a check next to Use Presenter View.

Working in Presenter View

Once you enable Use Presenter View, your presentation will automatically open in Presenter View when you view the slide show.

The following tools are available in Presenter View.

In the left Presentation pane, first row on the top-left:

  1. Display Taskbar: Display your computer's taskbar on the presenter monitor to access other software and tools.
  2. Display Settings dropdown: 
    1. Swap Presenter View and Slide Show: Swap which screen is used for presenter view and for audience view (See troubleshooting tips.​​​​​​).
    2. Duplicate Slide Show: Duplicate the audience slideshow view across all available screens including presenter screen. To return to previous presenter and audience views, right-click screen and select Show Presenter View  (See troubleshooting tips.​​​​​​).
  3. End Slide Show: Return to edit view. 

In the left Presentation pane, second row at the top-left:

  1. Slide Timer Controls: The seconds, minutes, and hours the current slide is shown. Includes pause and rewind controls.

Immediately below the presentation at the bottom-left:

  1. Pen and Laser Pointer Tools: Select pen, laser pointer, or highlighter tool, and ink color.
  2. See All Slides: Access slide thumbnails to select and display slides outside of the current order.
  3. Zoom Into The Slide: Select a section of a slide then click to zoom in. Click icon again to zoom out.
  4. Black or Unblack Slide Show: Toggle to black screen when full audience attention is needed. Click again to continue with the presentation.
  5. Toggle Subtitles: See Present with real-time, automatic captions or subtitles in PowerPoint.
  6. Toggle Camera: Enable your cameo in Power Point's edit view. In Presenter View use Toggle Camera to show/hide your cameo.
  7. More Slide Show Options: Additional features for the above tools.

In the left Presentation pane at the bottom:

  1. Arrows to move forward/backwards through slides.

In the right Notes pane, bottom-left corner:

  1. Increase/decrease your notes font size.
