Teams Calls - Can I Take a Teams Call While I'm in a Teams Meeting?

Body

You can take a Teams Call while you are in a meeting then return to the meeting when you call is done. While Teams Calls currently does not have a built-in option to let meeting attendees know that you are temporarily stepping away, you can send a quick chat to alert them.

Take a Teams Call While in a Teams Meeting

Choose instructions from the following list:

On Your Computer

  1. Send a quick chat message or verbally let meeting attendees know that you are temporarily stepping away from the meeting. If you suspect that you may need to take a call during an upcoming meeting, consider also letting the attendees know at the meeting start.
  2. Answer the call as usual. This temporarily removes you from the meeting.
  3. When you have finished your call click Leave. This closes the Call window and returns you to the Meeting window.
  4. Back on the meeting window, click Resume to re-enter the meeting.

On Your Mobile Device

  1. Tap Hold & Accept to take the incoming call, You are now temporarily stepping away from the meeting to take your call as the other attendees continue to meet.
  2. Tap Resume to return to your meeting.

On Your Teams Office "Yealink" Phone

If you are in a Teams meeting and receive a call, just answer your call on your Yealink phone. You will remain in your meeting and can rejoin when your call is complete.
