Using Teams Calls

Summary

Microsoft Teams Calls is UWSP's supported call system for internal and external calls. See an overview of the Teams Calls window, and "How to" links to instructions for commonly performed tasks.

​Teams Calls works much like a typical call system allowing us to forward and reroute calls, put a call on hold and transfer calls, with the option of making video calls as well as the audio-only calls of a traditional phone system. Teams Calls is UWSP's supported call system for internal and external calls.

Teams Calls Screen Overview

  1. To open the Teams Calls window, at the left of Teams on the App bar click Calls.
  2. At the upper-left of the Calls screen is the Dial Pad. Above the dial pad is your "Type a name or number" contact Search.

Located below the dial pad your work number is listed, followed by your building and office number and quick access to two important Calls Settings:

  1. Click to select Forwarding settings to change how incoming calls should be handled. Your default will be Don't forward.
  2. Directly below your Forwarding settings is quick access to your Teams Call Audio and other Device Settings.

Located in the middle pane of the Calls screen is your call History pane:

  1. Mouse over a contact in your History to access a Call button. Right-click the contact or click the ellipses for more options such as add contact to your Speed dial list located at the right.
  2. At the top of your contact History are filters for Missed, Incoming, and Outgoing calls, and Voicemails.
  3. To the right of  the Voicemail filter, click the Filter button to search on a specific contact name or number.

Located at the top right of the Calls screen:

  1. At the very top right click the Ellipses to select your Teams Settings. From the Settings list, select Calls to access your Call Settings.
  2. Below the Ellipses click View contacts to display your Contacts list. Mouse over a contact to see a Call button.
  3. To the right of View contacts, click the two person icon to close the Speed dial pane.
  4. At the right of the Speed dial heading, click the single person icon to add a new contact to your Speed dial list.
