Welcome New Faculty and Staff!

See the following services, resources, and tips from Information Technology for a great start at UWSP!

Before You Arrive on Campus

Complete your UWSP account set up as soon as you receive your username from your Department Information Manager (DIM).  You can do this from any computer with Internet access. ​​Your UWSP account is needed to sign in to UWSP computers and network resources.

Check your UWSP email: All UWSP-related messages will be sent to your UWSP email account. You can access your UWSP email through the Outlook Web App. When signed into a UWSP computer you can also access your email from the installed Outlook Desktop app. 

Your First Day

Sign into your assigned UWSP computer and enable Known File Move.

Get your UWSP PointCard from the IT Service Desk. Your PointCard is used for your electronic lock access for your assigned UWSP buildings, rooms, and key tenders as well as other UWSP services.

Record a personal greeting for your voicemail. UWSP uses Teams Calls for all internal and external calls.

Read the day's Campus Announcements: Watch for the daily Campus Announcements in your UWSP email alerting you to important news and events on campus including information about IT services, scheduled upgrades and our IT Newsletter!

Your First Week

Explore your myPoint portal: myPoint is our campus portal which provides quick access to a number of UWSP administrative and academic management tools.

Upgrade your personal computer with free Microsoft Office 365Microsoft Office 365 is free for you to install at home for use throughout your employment at UW-Stevens Point.

Learn about your UWSP OneDrive file storage: All personal UWSP work files should be stored in your Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage. Files stored in your OneDrive can be shared with others to view and for collaborative editing.
 

Also Good to Know

Each time you sign into a different UWSP computer make sure you enable Known File Move.

IT equipment and supplies: IT related items are required to be purchased through Information Technology Purchasing. Check first with your department chair or manager regarding funding for these items. IT equipment purchased for you and provided to you during your employment is required to be returned should you leave or retire from UWSP.

Learn about your UWSP email addresses: You have two UWSP email addresses. Your default email address, username@uwsp.edu, is used to log into the UWSP network. You also have FirstName.LastName@uwsp.edu.  Both addresses deliver mail to the same account. 

Learn about the Campus Support Team.  The Campus Support Team members support the specialized technology needs for each college and business units.
