How to Fix a Pushed in Network Port in Your Residence Hall Room

Does your residence hall room have a pushed in port? A pushed in port can be easily fixed by following these simple steps.

Prerequisites:

A flat screw driver or a butter knife.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. If your residence hall room's network port is pushed in, it will look like this:


    To fix this:
  2. Use a flat screw driver or a butter knife to pop out the port.

     
  3. Carefully detach the triangular piece and you will see your network cable.



     
  4. Snap the network cable back onto the triangular piece



     
  5. Snap the triangular piece back onto the box.




Your pushed in network port is now fixed.
