An Email I Sent Was Returned, What Do I Do?

Sometimes the emails we send go to out of service inboxes, incorrect addresses, or encounter technical issues.

Troubleshooting Undeliverable Email Messages

  • If a message was unable to send due to the recipient email server rejecting it, you will receive an email from Microsoft Outlook.

  • Make sure the email ​address is correct. I​f you used an auto-filled address, look it up in the address book and try sending again. ​ If you continue to​​​ receive undeliverable messages, forward the "Undeliverable" message to the IT Service Desk and they will attempt to troubleshoot.
     
  • You will see the following message from Microsoft Outlook if you attempt to send a message that violates UWSP's email policy or a system error is encountered.

  • If you are unable to send an email and instead receive an error message saying "Access denied, spam abuse detected", contact the IT Service Desk.​
