How Do I Create and Use Contact Groups?

You can create Contact Groups in Outlook to email multiple people at once instead of typing in individual emails. If you want more efficient functionality with your contact list, consider creating a group!

There are multiple functions for contact groups, click the headings below for a shortcut to instructions:

How to Create a Contact Group

  1. Open Outlook and select People on the left side menu.

  2. Click the drop-down arrow on the New Contact button > select Contact Group.

  3. Name the contact group then click Add Members > From Address Book.

  4. Search for individuals you want to add to your group > double-click the name > click OK.

  5. Click Save & Close after adding desired members.

You can also find your created contact groups by going to the People section of Outlook.

Email a Contact Group

  1. Open Outlook and create a New Email.

  2. In the To: field type in the name of your contact group.

    • If you need a reminder of who is in your contact group, click the  next to the name to see individual emails.
       
  3. Draft your email and click Send.

 

Delete a Contact Group

  1. Open Outlook and click the People icon.
     
  2. Find the group you want to delete > right click the group name > select Delete.
